Thalassaemia is one of the commonest Hemolytic disease. In this condition the Haemoglobin drops drastically and the child becomes Anaemic. So the child need blood transfusion every month once the Haemoglobin drops to 9 gms per cent. Because of the regular and recurrent transfusion the iron get deposited in almost all the organs of the body and require regular iron chelators to remove the iron.
We have received the “Award of Appreciation” from the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamilnadu in admiration of our best performance in providing regular blood transfusion and iron chelators to the Thalassaemia children under Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme in a function held at Chennai on 19.11.2019.
