Dr. Thangaraj Chelakkuti is among the few dedicated paediatric respiratory specialists in the region and holds the prestigious European Respiratory Diplomate in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine, reflecting internationally recognized expertise in the diagnosis and management of childhood lung diseases. Dr. Thangaraj specializes in caring for children with persistent cough, recurrent wheezing, difficult-to-control asthma, repeated chest infections, bronchiectasis, noisy breathing, and sleep-related breathing disorders. His particular interest lies in evaluating children with recurrent or unexplained respiratory symptoms and identifying the underlying cause to provide targeted, long-term solutions.

His areas of special interest include paediatric bronchoscopy, airway disorders, airway foreign body retrieval, Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD), Cystic Fibrosis, and other rare respiratory diseases. He is actively involved in clinical research, teaching, and academic activities, with publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific meetings. A recipient of multiple academic distinctions, including Gold Medals in Paediatrics and General Medicine, Dr. Thangaraj is committed to delivering evidence-based, compassionate, and family-centred care. He works closely with paediatricians, intensivists, ENT surgeons, radiologists, physiotherapists, and other specialists to provide comprehensive respiratory care for children with both common and complex respiratory disorders.
